I'm Amy Maddox, a boudoir, beauty, maternity (and wedding!) photographer with over 12 years in the industry. I specialize in creating light, airy, romantic portraits of WOMEN but more importantly, I create a safe space where you will learn to love your curves and discover how stunning you truly are.
"Amy is super woman when it comes to photography! She can make a real awkward person (me) look like she knows what she’s doing! "
This image can change your life. Seeing yourself this way, this natural & beautiful, can give you confidence & empower you in ways you can’t YET imagine. Every woman deserves this.
Boudoir is something that seems so intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be! You don’t have to be a professional model (none of the women on my website are!), or even know how to pose, in order to look beautiful in something lacy and delicate. You don’t have to be a size 2 or even have voluptuous Kardashian-curves. Boudoir is the chance to show the best version of YOU.
There are SO MANY different styles of boudoir out there & they can range from dark and dramatic, to bright & vivid, to light & airy, like mine. But there are also many different styles as far as posing, expression, intent, & level of explicitness.
I describe MY style as the kind of boudoir that, for the most part, you could show your Mom. Probably not your Dad, because boundaries. But they are tasteful & elegant enough that you could show most of them to your mother & she would think you look like a lingerie model, NOT the kind of model that should have XXX's on the cover of your album.
While boudoir is intimate in nature, many of my clients use some of their pictures as their facebook profile pictures. The focus is on your face, your curves, with a subtle allure.
NEVER without your permission! I love showing off my
work, but my clients’ privacy is the most important thing.
I photograph teachers, politicians, and professionals and I
understand the importance of privacy. If you want to share
your images on my website, I’m happy to show them off, but
I’ll get written permission for each image.
Only at the Oak Atelier, which is a separate studio located in Conroe that requires a rental.
About an hour for hair and makeup, and about 1.5-2 hours for your session.
At my studio in La Porte. It's a natural light studio with white walls, tons of windows, a bay window area, polished concrete floors, a large gilded mirror, a macrame swing, tufted furniture, oh so many florals, a feature wall with trim detail, and a one of a kind antique window backdrop.
No, you purchase those at your ordering appointment 2 weeks later. I offer wall art, canvas prints, folio boxes, matte prints, metals, acrylic prints, albums, and digitals.
No. I have a specific style and workflow and I need time to get you comfortable, relaxed, to discuss your outfits, and
to teach you all my posing tricks. Once that happens, the
magic begins! Then, it takes time to get all the little details
perfect in camera. A 30 or even 60-minute session is not enough time to
go through this process.
Your images will be ready within two weeks of our session, and that's when we'll schedule your ordering appointment. Prints, wall art, and albums are delivered in 4-6 weeks.
That’s entirely up to you! If bringing a friend will make you feel
more comfortable, they are more than welcome to come sip champagne with you and cheer you on! I’ve even had people bring their
mom! That said, husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends, and partners are not allowed. Trust me on this :-)
That’s ok! I do! I have tons of pieces that you can use, and
there’s no charge. I also have several props, like tulle skirts, vintage gloves and pearls, and angel wings! But boudoir doesn’t have to be just lingerie.
You can wear your man’s button up shirt, cut off jeans, tanks and
tees, the options are endless! And Amazon has bodysuits for $15.
This is the #1 question I get before the shoot. In the age of SnapChat and Instagram filters, people are looking less and less human
in photos. The current standard of beauty is completely unattainable and I don’t want to be part
of that problem. I’m not in the business of making people look
plastic or even perfect. “Flaws” are beautiful. I aim to get everything
right in camera, so I don’t have to rely on Photoshop to “fix” things.
Flattering light and thoughtful posing makes heavy Photoshopping unnecessary. That said, EVERY image gets retouched in some way, such as removing razor bumps, bruises, pimples, and scratches. Everyone gets a few lbs and a few years off. If you have a breakout the day of our shoot, it’s no problem. All of that gets retouched. But I don’t give my A-cup girls fake Cs and I won’t make a size 10 a size 2 - because you’re perfect just the way you are!
Nope, boudoir sessions are girls only.
Yes I do! Boudoir is a splurge, it's not something you do every day. It's also an investment, not just in dollars but in YOU. I offer in house payment plans, and all products will be delivered after payments have been made.
I know how much you're going to LOVE your images, and if that means you need a little more time to save up to buy everything you want that's fine! I archive your gallery for 6 months after your session. Often your husband/ girlfriend/ partner will want to gift you something from your session, so make sure to drop hints!
I also offer gift certificates! These are the perfect thing to put on your bridal registry or birthday wish list. Your friends and family can purchase them in any amount and you use them same as cash.
Unlike some other boudoir studios, I do NOT use an associate photographer to shoot for me. In many companies you think you're booking one person but often get an associate whose work isn't quite at the same level as far as lighting, posing, or directing. But I put my name behind everything I shoot, so I am always the photographer.
Feel free to join my VIP lounge, a Facebook group dedicated to all things boudoir. Here you can be the first to know about exclusive sales, share outfit suggestions, talk with past clients, chat with my hair and makeup artists, and just ask for general knowledge.
